As a child Famke was already interested in other languages. From both her mother as her grandmother she learned that dictionaries contained all the translations of every word she wanted to learn in English, Spanish, French or Indonesian.

She decided to study English which gave her the opportunity to study in England, where she did not only study the language, she also learned the language by listening a lot.

Years after having started teaching, she discovered the Comprehensible Input philosophy and a whole new world opened up for her. She discovered that this way of working is not only more fun and more effective for the students, but also for the teacher.

Famke teaches both English and Dutch as an Additional Language.
